Frequently Asked Questions on Transferring the Ownership of a Google Ads Account
Does transferring ownership of a Google Ads account affect ongoing campaigns in Google Ads?
No, campaigns will continue running as scheduled; all existing campaigns, ad groups, ads, and settings remain intact and continue to run as they were before the transfer. Ensure the new owner reviews active campaigns and payment settings.
What happens to the Google Ads account data when ownership is transferred?
When ownership of a Google Ads account is transferred, all of the account's data remains intact and unaffected. This includes historical performance data, campaign structures, ad groups, ads, keywords, targeting settings, and any other configurations within the account. The transfer process simply changes who has primary control over the account, but it doesn't alter or delete any of the existing data or ongoing campaigns.
Can I reverse the Google Ads ownership transfer if I change my mind?
No, once you've removed yourself as an owner, you can't reverse the process yourself. The new owner would need to add you back as an owner.
