How To Check Who Is Advertising on Google Ads (Google Ads Transparency Centre)

If you're a Digital Marketer who is curious about who is advertising on Google Ads, you'll be happy to know that Google now offers that information through the Google Ads Transparency Center. Launched in March this year, the Google Ads Transparency Center provides a searchable database of all advertisements and advertisers across Google Search, Google Display Network, and Youtube.

This is a great resource for advertisers to use as a competitor research tool to find out who your competitors are and what ads they are running in any region and time period you're interested in. With this information, you can find inspiration and come up with more creative and competitive ad visuals and copy. This quick and easy guide will show you how to check who is advertising on Google Ads through the Google Ads Transparency Center!

Step 1️: Navigate to https://adstransparency.google.com/

Step 2️: Select the time frame of interest

Step 3️: Select the country of interest

Step 4: Select the format of interest

There are 3 options:

  • Image: Display Ads

  • Text: Paid Search

  • Video: Google Display Network and Youtube

Step 5: Type to select an advertiser or insert a competitive website

For example, we will search for Singapore Airlines.

You will see all the ads that Singapore Airlines run in Singapore from April 22 2023 to May 21 2023, including all Paid Search and Display campaigns.

Another example here, we typed in UOB to see what entities are advertising in Singapore. Here you can find a number of companies from various regions as well as websites that contain "UOB" in their name.

You can select the advertiser you're interested in, for instance, UOB Asset Management, to see the ads that they were running in the country and time frame of interest.
