Topics Covered:

Step 1: Access your Meta Business Manager

Click on the link: Meta Business Manager to make your way to your account.

Step 2: Navigate to Business Settings

Click on the Gear icon / Business Settings in the bottom-left corner.

Step 3: Choose "Domains" under the Brand Safety option

Step 4: Add a new domain

If you're setting up for the first time and the domain belongs to you, you can select "Create a new domain". If you're an agency and the domain belongs to your client that you're setting up for, you can select "Request access to a domain". As an example, we will be creating a new domain.

Step 5: Paste your URL and click "Add"

Provide the URL without the http:// or https:// and the www, and provide only the clean domain. In our example, we are using the https://www.xyzads.co/ website, so we will only input the xyzads.co. Click on Add.

Step 6: Copy the verification code and install it on your website as per the instructions

The system will show your domain that is not verified. We need to insert the tracking code on the back of our websites first. There are two ways to do this:

Option 1: Copy all the listed information and send it to your web developer who will do the verification for you.

Option 2: Click on the option drop-down menu and choose the method that suits you and follow the given instructions.

Should you choose the second option and install the verification code yourself, we recommend using the first method to add a meta-tag to your HTML source code. You can find the tutorial to do so below:

Method 1: Add a meta-tag to your HTML source code

1. Copy the Meta tag

2. Navigate to your website. For every technology, the process will be slightly different. In our case, we are using Wix, so we will be showing the process for this software.

3. Click on Settings and choose "Custom Code"

4. Click "Add Custom Code"

5. Paste the Meta tag code snippet

6. Place the Meta tag code snippet on the <head> section of your website's home page HTML code. In our example, since we only have one page, we will select "All Pages". If you have more than one page, then select "Choose specific pages" and select your home page.

7. Click "Apply"

Step 7: Navigate back to Domains and click on "Verify Domain"

Once the process is completed, you will receive a popup to confirm that your website is verified.

Now that you've verified your domain, for the next step, you can follow our tutorial to set up the Aggregated Event Measurement to track your results more accurately in Meta Ads. We hope this guide has been helpful for you in starting out your Meta Ads setup!
