Frequently Asked Questions on Changing the Name of a Google Ads Account

Why would I want to change my Google Ads account name?

You might want to change your account name to reflect a new business name, client rebrand, or to organize multiple accounts more clearly in your dashboard. Changing the account name helps maintain clarity without affecting your campaigns or billing settings.

How do I change the name of my Google Ads account?

Log in to your Google Ads account.

Click the Tools & Settings (🔧) icon in the top-right corner.

Under Setup, select Preferences.

In the Account Name field, click Edit, type your new name, and click Save.
Your updated account name will appear across all dashboards and reports immediately.

Will changing my account name affect campaigns or billing?

No. Changing the account name is purely cosmetic — it won’t impact your campaigns, ads, billing setup, or performance data. All settings and historical data remain intact.

Can I rename a Manager Account (MCC) the same way?

Yes. In a Manager Account (MCC), go to your account settings → Preferences and edit the Manager Account Name field. The new name will appear for all users linked to that MCC.
