STEP 1: Check what goes under unassigned traffic in Google Analytics


1) Navigate to Traffic Acquisition Report

2) Add a Filter

3) Select condition as: Session default channel group exactly matches Unassigned

4) Change your dimension to Session source / medium from the drop-down menu in the first column

5) Check everything that is currently recorded as Unassigned



STEP 2: Create New Channel Group


1) Navigate to Admin (bottom-left-hand-side)

2) Select Channel groups

3) Click to Create new channel group

4) Name your new channel group

5) Select Add new channel and give it a name (for example AI tools)

6) Define the conditions based on the source and medium

7) Save
