Frequently Asked Questions on Granting Access to Your Google Ads Account

Why should I grant access to my Google Ads account?

Granting access allows team members, agencies, or consultants to help manage your campaigns, analyze data, and make optimizations. It’s safer than sharing login details, since you can control each user’s permissions and revoke access anytime.

How do I grant someone access to my Google Ads account?

Log in to your Google Ads account and go to Tools & Settings → Access and Security → Users.

Click + Add User and enter the person’s email address.

Choose the appropriate access level — Email only, Read only, Standard, or Admin.

Click Send Invitation. Once accepted, the new user will appear in your account’s user list.

What are the different access levels in Google Ads?

Email only: Receives reports and notifications.

Read only: Can view campaigns but not make changes.

Standard: Can create and edit campaigns but cannot manage users or billing.

Admin: Has full access, including user and billing management.

How can I remove or change someone’s access later?

Go to Access and Security → Users, locate the user, and click the remove icon or change their access level from the dropdown menu. Changes take effect immediately, allowing you to maintain full control of account security.
