Frequently Asked Questions on Applying IP Exclusions in Google Ads

What are IP exclusions in Google Ads?

IP exclusions allow you to block your ads from showing to specific IP addresses. This prevents unwanted impressions or clicks — for example, from your own company, competitors, or spam sources that might distort campaign data or waste budget.

How do I apply IP exclusions in my Google Ads campaign?

In your Google Ads dashboard, go to Campaigns → Settings.

Scroll down to Additional Settings → IP Exclusions.

Click Edit and enter the IP addresses you want to exclude (one per line).

Click Save.
Your ads will no longer be shown to users connecting from those IPs.

Can I exclude multiple IP addresses at once?

Yes. You can add several IP addresses — up to 500 per campaign. Simply paste each IP on a new line within the exclusion box. For larger exclusions, you can use scripts or Google Ads API to automate the process across multiple campaigns.

How can I identify which IPs to exclude?

Review your web analytics, conversion logs, or CRM data to find suspicious or non-converting IPs. You can also monitor click fraud detection tools or network logs to identify internal or repetitive traffic patterns that don’t contribute to conversions.
