Frequently Asked Questions on Renaming Your Google Ads Account
Why would I want to rename my Google Ads account?
Renaming your account helps keep your dashboard organized — especially if you manage multiple accounts or clients. It’s also useful when your business name changes, or when you want the account name to match your brand identity or reporting labels.
How do I rename my Google Ads account?
Log in to your Google Ads dashboard.
Click the Tools & Settings (🔧) icon in the top-right corner.
Under Setup, go to Preferences.
In the Account Name field, click Edit.
Enter your new account name and click Save.
Your new name will appear instantly across reports and dashboards.
Will renaming my Google Ads account affect campaigns or billing?
No. Changing your account name only updates the label used for identification. Your campaigns, ads, billing setup, and performance data remain completely unaffected.
Can I rename a Manager Account (MCC) in the same way?
Yes. If you’re using a Manager Account, open your MCC dashboard → Settings → Preferences, and edit the Manager Account Name. The new name will reflect for all linked users and accounts.
