How to Track Custom Events in Google Analytics with Google Tag Manager

1️⃣ Navigate to your Google Tag Manager

2️⃣ Create a new Tag

3️⃣ Under Tag Configuration select "Google Analytics 4: Event"

4️⃣ Select your GA4 Measurement ID & name your Event

5️⃣ Under Triggering, create a new Trigger

6️⃣ Choose Custom Event as your Trigger Type

7️⃣ Insert the name of the Custom Event exactly as it fires


How to find the name of the Custom Event:


1️⃣ Preview your Google Tag Manager

2️⃣ Navigate to the page whihc is connected to the Tag Assistant

3️⃣ Take the action you would like to track

4️⃣ Navigate to the Tag Assstant

5️⃣ Select the event name under the left-hand-side columnn

6️⃣ Navigate to variables

7️⃣ Copy the event name and inform your trigger accordingly
