Frequently Asked Questions on Unlinking a Google Ads Account from Google Ads Manager Account
What happens when I unlink a Google Ads account from a Manager Account?
Unlinking a Google Ads account removes the manager’s access to that account. The individual account retains all its campaigns, data, and billing information, but the Manager Account will no longer be able to view, edit, or manage it. The user who owns the individual account keeps full control.
How do I unlink a Google Ads account from my Manager Account?
In your Google Ads Manager Account, go to Accounts → Management. Find the account you want to remove, click the three-dot menu next to it, and select Unlink. Confirm your choice. Once unlinked, the account will disappear from your manager dashboard immediately.
Can I relink an account after unlinking it?
Yes. You can relink the same account later by sending a new linking request. The account owner must accept it again under Tools & Settings → Access and Security → Managers tab → Accept Request. All historical data remains intact even after unlinking.
Will unlinking affect billing or campaign performance?
No. Unlinking only affects management access — it does not pause or delete campaigns, nor does it impact billing setup. However, if you were using a Manager Account consolidated billing, the unlinked account will revert to its individual billing method.
